Sportpesa launches a USSD code targeted at customers with no internet connection

Who does not want ‘quick cash’? What better way to make money than when watching your favourite football club not just playing but ultimately winning. This is now possible courtesy of all the sports betting firms out there. In Kenya you cannot talk about sport betting without mentioning Sportpesa.

Well when Sportpesa set camp in Kenya they offered two ways to place your wager. For the millennials they could direct there web browsers to the firm’s website where they could sign up for an account and place there single or multiple bets right there. In case you ran out of bundles for one reason or the other you had the option of using the texting alternative to sign up for an account with Sportpesa. You can place your bet through the text code 79079.

I know some guys who prefer the texting alternative over the online platform. When I ask them they say they find it much simpler. Well ladies and gentlemen Sportpesa has launched yet another mode of interacting with their services. Through the use of a USSD short code you can get all your queries sorted out. You can easily and conveniently place your wager and manage your account.

Sportpesa clams this method is aimed towards the individuals who have no access to internet connection. The individuals who still prefer to hold on to feature phones either by design or choice.

To access the Sportpesa platform dial the following USSD code, *790#. So far it works on both Safaricom and Airtel platforms. I faced some challenges when I tried to access it via an Orange line. If your line is not registered with Sportpesa you will receive the following message:

Your number: 2547xxxxxxxx is not registered with Sportpesa. Please visit www.sportpesa.com to register or SMS the word Game to 79079.

If you are already registered you will be presented with the following options:
