Imagine trading the ordinary for sun-drenched days in Dubai, crafting travel content alongside industry leaders, all while drawing a salary. That opportunity is now a reality, as Beautiful Destinations, the influential travel media brand, partners with Visit Dubai to launch the Beautiful Destinations Academy, a first-of-its-kind training initiative for aspiring creators.
The three-month program, which begins in May 2025, will select participants to live and train in Dubai, learning from top content creators, including Jeremy Jauncey, the founder and chief executive of Beautiful Destinations. Successful applicants will receive free upscale housing, a living stipend and access to typically off-limits locations, an effort to cultivate fresh talent in the booming creator economy.
“Social media drives 76 percent of travel bookings today,” said Mr. Jauncey in an interview. “We’re looking not for people who’ve been everywhere, but for those who can make anywhere look extraordinary.”
The Program’s Appeal
With short-form video fueling wanderlust across platforms like Instagram and TikTok, skilled travel creators are in high demand. The academy aims to equip participants with technical skills, industry connections and a portfolio to jumpstart their careers.
Benefits include:
-Luxury accommodations in a coveted Dubai neighborhood.
-Exclusive filming access at elite venues.
– Hands-on mentorship from the Beautiful Destinations team.
-A certificate from the Dubai College of Tourism.
-Job opportunities with the brand post-graduation, which boasts over 50 million followers worldwide.
No Prior Experience Required
Mr. Jauncey, who started Beautiful Destinations in 2012 as a passion project, emphasized that formal credentials are unnecessary. “What matters is perspective, how you frame a scene, tell a story,” he said.
How to Apply
Prospective candidates must submit a 60-second original travel video via Instagram, tagging @BeautifulDestinations, @VisitDubai and #BDacademy, then complete an online application. The deadline is April 23, 2025.
A judging panel, including H.E. Issam Kazim, chief executive of Visit Dubai, and Mr. Jauncey, will evaluate entries based on creativity and potential.
Why Dubai?
The emirate, known for its futuristic skyline and cultural dynamism, has become a magnet for digital creators. Its streamlined visa policies and tax incentives have further cemented its status as a hub for the influencer economy.

“Dubai is a place where creativity meets opportunity,” said Mr. Kazim. “This academy aligns with our vision to empower the next generation of storytellers.”
A Launchpad
For winners, the rewards extend beyond training. Graduates gain a direct pathway to monetizing their skills, whether through brand partnerships or roles with Beautiful Destinations itself.
“This isn’t just about making pretty videos,” Mr. Jauncey said. “It’s about building a career that merges artistry, business and adventure.”
