At the OPPO AI Tech Summit during MWC 2025, OPPO announced a bold step forward in its mission to lead artificial intelligence (AI) innovation. The company unveiled an enhanced AI strategy aimed at delivering comprehensive, secure, and continuously evolving AI solutions, with smartphones positioned as the cornerstone of exceptional AI experiences. By focusing on user-centric design, cutting-edge collaborations, and relentless innovation, OPPO is setting a new standard for how AI can transform daily life.

The Engine of AI Innovation

Billy Zhang, President of Overseas Marketing, Sales, and Services at OPPO, emphasized the company’s philosophy: “When it comes to AI, the user experience is ultimately all that matters.” OPPO sees smartphones as the driving force behind delivering the best possible AI experiences. To achieve this, the company is doubling down on in-house innovation while fostering open collaboration with top-tier partners to bring unparalleled AI capabilities to its users.

MWC 2025

This vision was on full display at MWC 2025, where OPPO showcased its latest advancements and outlined a roadmap to integrate AI more deeply into its ecosystem, spanning hardware, software, and cloud infrastructure.

Expanded Collaboration with Google

One of the standout announcements at the summit was OPPO’s expanded partnership with Google. The two companies are working together to elevate AI from functional-level features to system-level integration, unlocking new possibilities for performance and security. Google Gemini will soon interact seamlessly with native OPPO apps like Notes, Calendar, and Clock, building on existing support for Gemini 1.5 Pro and 1.5 Flash on OPPO AI phones. The partnership will also bring Gemini 2.0 to OPPO devices in the near future, promising unprecedented responsiveness and power.

Security remains a top priority. OPPO is integrating its Private Computing Cloud (PCC), built with Google Cloud’s Confidential Computing, to safeguard user privacy as AI becomes more deeply embedded in its devices. Starting this year, features like AI Recording Summary, AI Search, AI Studio, and AI Call Summary will leverage PCC, ensuring users can enjoy advanced AI capabilities without compromising their data.

Matt Waldbusser, Managing Director for Global Solutions and Consumer AI at Google Cloud, highlighted the potential of the collaboration: “Through our extensive partnership spanning apps, AI models, and cloud solutions, we are unlocking immense potential to redefine the mobile AI experience.”

Innovation Across Hardware, Software, and Cloud

OPPO’s AI strategy is built on three core pillars: AI Productivity, AI Creativity, and AI Imaging. These focus areas aim to deliver practical, meaningful features that seamlessly integrate AI into everyday life. Supporting this vision is a robust R&D ecosystem spanning chips, devices, and the cloud.

-Chips: OPPO is partnering with MediaTek to optimize chips for high-efficiency, real-time AI processing. This collaboration ensures powerful performance without sacrificing energy efficiency, paving the way for advancements in AI-enhanced photography, gaming, security, and connectivity. Will Chen of MediaTek noted, “The possibilities are limitless.”

-Devices: Technologies like LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation), Parallel Decoding Solution, and MoE (Mixture of Experts) are boosting the performance of AI features on OPPO devices, making them faster and more capable than ever.

-Cloud: OPPO has developed a comprehensive data security system that protects users across devices and the cloud, ensuring a safe and reliable AI experience.

Expanding AI Accessibility

OPPO’s ambitions extend beyond technology—they’re about reach and impact. After surpassing its goal of 50 million AI users last year, the company now aims to double that number, targeting nearly 100 million users by the end of 2025. To keep pace with growing demand, OPPO plans to roll out an average of one AI update per month. Upcoming features include AI Search and deeper integration with Google Gemini on devices like the OPPO Find N5.

Exciting new tools are also on the horizon. AI Call Translator will enable real-time interpretation of calls in multiple languages, while AI VoiceScribe will offer versatile voice summarization for calls, online learning, and meetings. These updates reflect OPPO’s commitment to evolving its AI offerings to meet users’ needs.

A Celebrity Endorsement

The summit wasn’t just about technology—it also featured a special appearance by Spanish football legend David Villa. Villa experienced OPPO AI firsthand and expressed enthusiasm for how these innovations could enhance both his personal life and professional pursuits. His presence underscored the real-world potential of OPPO’s AI vision.

Beyond the summit, OPPO’s AI phones—including the Find N5, Reno13 series, and Find X8 series—were showcased alongside partners like Google, MediaTek, and Qualcomm. These collaborations highlight OPPO’s dedication to working with the industry’s best to push the boundaries of AI.

Mobile AI Future

From deep technical research to a relentless focus on user experience, OPPO is carving out a leadership role in the AI space. With its enhanced strategy unveiled at MWC 2025, the company is poised to make AI an indispensable part of its customers’ lives—securely, seamlessly, and innovatively.
