Life’s Good with AI DD

It goes without saying that AI DD is one of the LG’s AI powered technologies that LG has ever come up with. AI DD stands for Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive, and it enables LG washing machines to the volume, weight, and fabric type of the clothes and adjust the washing cycle accordingly.

AI DD controls the motion of the washing motions via the Direct Drive Motor. By using AI technology and referencing a database of wash motions, the machine assesses the load characteristics and selects the best option for a thorough clean with reduced clothing wear. AI DD uses four sensors to measure the load: a weight sensor, a hall sensor, an acceleration sensor, and a turbidity sensor. The weight sensor measures the weight of the laundry, the hall sensor detects the speed and direction of the motor, the acceleration sensor measures the vibration of the drum, and the turbidity sensor checks the water clarity.

The IBM Quantum Network for the future

In January 2022, LG joined the IBM Quantum Network LG Electronics to explore the applications of quantum computing for AI, IoT, connected cars, digital transformation, and robotics.
