The Gulf Information Technology Exhibition Africa, or GITEX Africa for short, is set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco from May 31 to June 2, 2023. This event is the largest and most influential tech and startup event on the continent, and it represents the first overseas venture for GITEX, which has been running for 42 years in Dubai as the leading tech exhibition in the Middle East.

GITEX Africa 2023 is a platform for tech titans, governments, SMEs, startups, coders, investors, and academia to connect, collaborate, and explore new opportunities in the African digital economy. The event will feature emerging technologies from fintech, e-commerce, cloud, IoT, AI, and telecom to cybersecurity, as well as inspiring speakers, workshops, training, and competitions.

With Africa’s digital aspirations and achievements powered by tech-savvy youth, corporates, and ambitious governments, GITEX Africa is also a celebration of the transformation of Africa into a global digital powerhouse. Tech investment in Africa is expected to soar from $115 billion to $712 billion over the next 25 years, and this event will showcase the continent’s digital potential to the world.

GITEX Africa will feature over 500 exhibitors from 25 countries, including some of the most promising African startups that have been selected through a rigorous process. These startups will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas, network with investors and mentors, and win prizes and funding.

The event will host over 200 speakers from various fields and industries, who will share their insights and experiences on topics such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and more. Attendees will also be able to participate in workshops, masterclasses, and hackathons to gain hands-on skills and knowledge.

One of the highlights of GITEX Africa is its role as a catalyst for African tech ecosystem development and collaboration. The event will bring together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities of digitalization in Africa.
