Samsung Electronics East Africa hosted a virtual forum where they educated their customers on their new range of AI centred consumer electronics. The customer education forum was hosted by Samsung Electronics East Africa Head of Consumer Electronics Division Mr Sam Odhiambo at the Samsung Customer Experience store at Mirage Tower, Waiyaki way.

“In the past, we always talked about Artificial Intelligence being the future of consumer electronics. At Samsung, the future is now. In July 2021 we introduced a new range of intelligent electronics and we see it fit to educate our customers on the benefits of each feature of the new electronics in order to allow them to make more informed purchase decisions” said Mr Sam Odhiambo.

Some of the products that consumers were educated on are the Neo QLED 8K and 4K Series TV, QLED 2021 Series TV, Crystal UHD 2021 Series TV, 2021 Frame TV and the AI-enabled washing machines, as well the Bespoke fridges.

The new Samsung AI-enabled washing machines that have gained attention from female customers who were intrigued by their versatility were some of the electronics that Samsung educated their customers on. The new range of washing machines allows users to enjoy efficient cleaning, even at low temperatures with the Samsung Eco Bubble technology. With this technology, detergent is turned into bubbles, so it quickly penetrates fabric and removes dirt easily, while saving energy and protecting clothes’ colour and texture. AI Wash uses 4 types of sensors to sense the laundry’s weight and calculates the optimal amount of water and detergent. A turbidity sensor monitors the level of soiling and, if necessary, adds more detergent or rinsing time. These washing machines range from between 82,000 to 198,000 Kenya Shillings.

The new Neo QLED TV that is available in 4K and 8K options, also has received a lot of attention globally as well as locally especially by video game enthusiasts due to its high picture quality was among the electronics that Samsung featured in their customer education session. The Neo QLED is available from 209,000 Kenya Shillings for the 55 inches Neo QLED 4K and 729,000 for the 75 inch Neo QLED 8K.

The aesthetic Bespoke range of fridges was also part of the education session. The range is made up of the tall one door fridge, the tall one door freezer and a bottom mount fridge. These refrigerators can be installed as either a counter-depth style or a kitchen-fit style by aligning your kitchen cabinet. The minimalist flat design allows them to blend perfectly with any modern kitchen décor. The refrigerators have a large capacity allowing for enough space to store the user’s groceries. These fridges are designed by you for you, with the Bespoke design allowing you to custom make them to fit into your specific taste and liking allowing you to express your personal style. The fridges range from 139,000 to 145,000 Kenya Shillings.

“With a majority of our customers working from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic we have seen a 25% increase in the demand for consumer electronics. We have seen a demand increase in the fridge category and we can attribute this to people spending more time at home hence consuming more. People also want more aesthetically pleasing electronics, they want a Fridge that matches the colour of their walls or a TV that blends into the overall look of their living space; the Bespoke range of fridges as well as the Frame TV’s comes in to fill the gap to ensure that people get the functionality in their electronics as well as aesthetics” added Mr Sam Odhiambo
