It’s very simple to stay healthy, just follow these 5 simple steps

improve your health

In the last year, we have all become more aware of how fragile and important our health is to take care of. As we enter the new year, you’re probably thinking even more about how you can live a healthy lifestyle.

While there are plenty of fads and trends out there that people are doing to get healthy – for example, the keto diet and drinking celery juice – there are just five simple things you can do to stay healthy in 2021.

1. Drink Water

Your body is made up mostly of water. So, it makes sense that we should drink as much as we can of it, right? Drinking at least 64 ounces of water per day will affect so many factors to your health. Not only will it help give you clear and beautiful skin, but it will keep you hydrated, energized, and flush out any toxins your body may be storing.

Set goals for yourself throughout the day for how much water you drink. For example, drink eight ounces in the morning before breakfast, 24 ounces by lunchtime, and so on.

2. Get Active

You’ll never realize just how important consistent exercise is until you start doing it. You feel more alert, better energized, clear-headed, and more confident about yourself when you have a regular exercise routine.

Now, this doesn’t mean you have to go to the gym and kill it every single day. Even if you aren’t a devoted exercise enthusiast, even if you do some yoga or go for a walk once a day, this can be enough to change your health drastically.

Try getting 30 to 60 minutes of exercise in five days a week. If you don’t currently exercise, start small and build up your routine.

3. Don’t Smoke

Believe it or not, there are still millions of people who smoke cigarettes. While it offers a calm and relaxing few minutes, with each cigarette smoked, you’re damaging your health in irreversible ways.

If you currently smoke, 2021 is the time to quit. There are plenty of products on the market and doctors with tested methods to help you stop smoking. It won’t be easy, but it is necessary to start living a healthier lifestyle.

4. Eat a Healthy Diet

It’s time to cut out those packaged and processed foods. Sure, grabbing a bag of chips for a snack is convenient and tasty, but they are packed with fats and sodium that your body won’t take kindly to.

Instead, try cooking more meals at home from fresh ingredients. Include vegetables and fruit to your diet. Switch out pasta for rice some nights.

You don’t have to go through a drastic change to have a healthy diet. Start forming healthy eating habits slowly at first – one by one – and eventually you will have transformed your diet without even realizing it by the end of the year.

5. See Your Doctor

Even if you feel fine and aren’t sick, it’s still a good idea to see your doctor for an annual checkup. With advanced healthcare market research, insurance companies and doctors’ offices are making healthcare more accessible and affordable for patients.

Make sure to have your annual screenings done to prevent serious illnesses such as cancer. You’re the only one who can stay on top of your health, so why not start in 202
