Tecno Camon 16s is a mid budget smartphone that you can’t say is anything centric. That is, it isn’t a phone meant to be specifically for office productivity (we leave that to high end devices particularly the note series of Samsung), neither can we say that it is a photography centric device. Though, just like any other smartphone that rolls out these days, The Tecno Camon 16s features a multicamera setup – and in this case we are talking about a quad camera setup.
The quad camera of Tecno Camon 16s features a 48 MP shooter that is fitted with a 26mm wide lens; and to help this main shooter are the 2 MP f/2.4 macro lens, a 2 MP, f/2.4 depth lens and another 2 MP lens the purpose of which has not been defined. The performance of the camera will be the subject of our full review article that is coming up later this week.
Other prominent features of the Tecno Camon 16s include the 4 GB RAM, which of course is today the minimum amount of RAM anyone would want on any decently functioning device. The RAM works together with the 2.0 GHz MediaTek Helio P35 processor that should allow you to play a plethora of games including your favorite fortnine or duty call.
The device itself is packed on a 164.5mm by 76.5mm by 95mm plastic body that is has this black to green gradient glossy finish. The totality of the device is to be experienced on the 6.6 inches IPS LCD screen that has a 720 x 1640 pixels resolution – still shy from the today’s minimum 1080p resolution but for cost cutting the 720p will still do.
The other important feature that most Tecno lovers will love is the 5000mAh battery. The highest battery capacity I have used so far is a 4,500 mAh battery and that was on Infinix Zero 5 – and given that that battery could sometimes give me up to three days of uptime, I believe the 5000mAh on the Tecno Camon 16s can provide you with a standard 3 days use time but not at heavy use. The low resolution screen of 720p should be able to sustain the battery life for long.
