The majority of people in our generation today would consider a phone very useless if its camera doesn’t impress them. The photo-obsessed millennials have dictated that the phone manufacturers invest more time and skills towards making an affordable smartphone, but with a quality camera. That one is a no choice for them, they either take it or leave it. The Chinese headquartered TECNO has had to bow down to this market demand with its latest gadgets which include TECNO Spark 5 Pro. So, let’s talk about its camera functionalities and other specifications in this short review.
Camera
The phone is loaded with outstanding camera sensitive elements, an F/1.8 big aperture 16-megapixel rear AI Quad camera, and an F/2.0, 8-megapixel front camera with an 8x digital zoom capability that enables highly clear and more natural photos during the daytime. Spark 5 Pro has ten different scene detections to fully cover both simple and mixed scenes at the same time. Its AI optimization lets you take more realistic and detailed photos.
For women who would like to showcase their body figures, the phone has an AI-based Body Shaping that helps you capture all those beautiful photos of your bodies. Oh, and you don’t need filter apps anymore, Spark 5 Pro has a Beauty Mode that gives you an ability to preset your images with different kinds of localized beauty effects. You can do skin polishing, intelligent brightening, big eyes, or make your face thin. For portraits, the accuracy of blurring has been significantly improved with its Portrait Bokeh Effect 2.0 allowing you to focus on the main portrait object while blurring the background naturally and smartly. Finally, to close on the camera ability, the phone is good for recording videos in full 1080p HD for both cameras.
Design and Display
SPARK 5 Pro embodies elaborate textural curves and fantastic gradient color choices of Comet Black, Ice Jadeite, Spark Orange, Seabed Blue, and Cloud White that makes it more noticeable. It has a dimension of 164.7 x 76.3 x 8.8 mm (6.6 inches, 105.2 cm2) which is 83.7% screen-to-body ratio, with a 6.6” HD+ Dot-in Display screen, a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, 20:9 ratio. The contrast is okay, but the brightness of 480 nits might not be clear if one would use the phone outside on a sunny day.

Body
Talking about the makeup, the front of the screen has a selfie camera peephole in the display, and above it, there is an earpiece speaker, light and proximity sensors, and a flash. On the right side, there is a power button, volume control keys while the left side has a triple slot for two nanoSIM cards and a microSD memory card. Behind it, is a rectangular block with 4 camera eyes and a quadruple flash. There is a round area for a fingerprint scanner and below it is the manufacturer’s logo.

Spark 5 supports 4G VoLTE which boosts the quality of phone calls if the network operator you are using supports this function, Safaricom does.
Memory

Battery
About the battery, the phone is equipped with a 5000mAh powerful battery and a smart power-saving system. Imagine 430 hours standby, if browsing 18 hours, 17 hours when on music, 16 hours of calling, 14 hours, and 7 hours if on video playback and camera respectively. Well, I know you will be switching from one function to the other, but you won’t have so much stress going back to your socket, after all.
