Safaricom has announced the launch of its new mySafaricom App to enable customers to have an easy and efficient way to access all Safaricom products and services under one roof. Through a YouTube live video streamed via BAKE Kenya channel, Fauzia Ali, Head of Digital Products and Services at Safaricom said the app has been tested by over 50,000 users and has been confirmed safe and secure for use by customers.
mySafaricom app has 5 tabs that is; Home, MPESA, Safaricom Button, Discover and Account. It gives you an easy way to access Safaricom services such as credit balance, limit and deadlines for PostPay subscribers and airtime, Bonga and data bundles balances, purchase and expenditure for Prepaid customers. Safaricom has added a new feature to load airtime on your line. When you purchase a scratch card, instead of keying in the digits, the app allows you to scan the card to top up easily.
You can now select your contacts directly from your phone book when you want to sambaza them airtime or MPESA some money, the name of the person you selected, and the transaction charges will be shown to you before you hit the send button. It also allows you to share M-PESA transaction messages once completed, meaning you now have a way of stopping those people who ask you to show them the messages (Hebu nionyeshe message) by sending them the transaction directly to their phones either by WhatsApp or SMS.
You can also access the daily digital newspaper with superior experience and for the Safaricom Home Fibre customers, you will be able to pay or change your Home Fibre plans when you would like to do it.
