Get 2019 KCPE Results by sending SMS to 20076

2019 KCPE Results

Michael Munyiri, Flavian Onyango, June Cheptoo Koech, and Michael Ndungu are the names that are already celebrating the release of the 2019 KCPE Results. This year’s results beat yet another record for the fastest national exam results ever released in the country. Statistics that we already know include numbers such as:

  • Nairobi, Nakuru and Kakamega being the top counties with the highest number of candidates
  • Candidates by sex were 50.17% boys and 49.82% girls
  • Top candidate, Michael Munyiri, scored a total of 440 marks out of 500 marks
  • Flavian Onyango, June Cheptoo Koech, and Michael Ndungu tied at position three with 439 marks each.
  • 1,088,986 candidates sat for the 2019 KCPE exams, 36,622 more candidates more than those who sat for the same exams in 2018.
  • Individual candidates can get their results by sending Candidate’s index number, followed by KCPE (In capital letters) through a sms number 20076.

The last point is very critical to remember – how to get your KCPE Results. Previously you just had to send your Index number to a given SMS number, but this year you must send the Index Number, then followed by the word (acronym) KCPE, and the acronym must be in all caps then send that text to 20076.

For example, if your index number is 85632001 – you will type your text message as follows:

85632001 KCPE

The above text, no matter which teleco line you are using, will be sent to SMS Number 20076.

Do not expect KNEC to send you back the results immediately, as as at now thousands upon thousands are sending SMS queries, which is jamming the network and the database.

Many have questioned the efficacy of the exams, given how fast the results have been announced. To some, Prof. Magoha is in competition with his predecessor Fred Matiangi (Amina Mohammed seem not to count) on the speed at which the results can can come out. In the future, some say, KCPE results will be announced a day after the candidates are through with the exams. I however think that when such a day has come, 8.4.4 will long be dead, and to die alongside it will be the national exams.

All the best to all those who sat for the 2019 KCPE Exams.
