Trying My Hand on Selfies with OPPO F7 Phone

Let me start this by confessing on something that I am terrible at, taking Selfies. It is something that I can’t explain, especially the fact that I am unable to balance a phone on one hand then take a perfect selfie with it like many people normally do. In my life, I have learned so many things especially those to do with technology including hard core coding but I have reached a point where I have said this selfie thing is not my thing.

I remember a few weeks ago while in Burkina Faso at the African digital space and the freedom of expression online event, I had a chance to take a selfie with a group of African friends. Armed with the best selfie camera phone OPPO F7, I thought I would hack it. It took a whole minute for Bonifance Mwangi who was part of the group to come to my rescue and boy he took a great one as seen below.

My struggle with taking selfies is one of the reasons why though OPPO phones have been around for a while, I have never used one of their phones in a serious way. You can fault OPPO phones for a number of things but when it comes to Selfies, they have specialized and perfected the art of selfie taking with their F series phones. Look at what they have done with the F7.  It is the first ever 25MP selfie cam, introducing OPPO’s new 3-HDR tech for the selfie camera. Gsmarena described 3-HDR  tech as a combination of tricks that results into better HDR selfies with the HDR effect applied in real-time and visible on the viewfinder.  For the selfie generation, I think this is a great gift to them from OPPO.

Anyway, when I got a chance, to use F7, I thought this was my chance to finally take some awesome selfies and kick start my Instagram career. Clearly that has not worked out but that is not the fault of the camera, I was not able to do it with lesser camera phones and I have not been able to do it right with much better OPPO F7.  But I was not going to stop there because of my struggle. Apart from the selfie thing what else does OPPO F7 has? The normal camera for the normal photos is not that bad either. Here is me going back to Ngong hills after many years and the 16MP camera on the back OPPO F7 has helped me to document some of the things that I had missed on top of those beautiful hills.
