“Maisha ni M-Pesa tu” to reward both M-pesa customers and agents

M-Pesa customers and agents will now be rewarded in new loyalty promotion launched by Safaricom. The promotion dubbed “Maisha ni M-PESA tu”, will see a customer rewarded every time they send and receive money, transfer money, transfer money from a bank account to M-Pesa and for all Lipa Na Mpesa transactions.

The promotion will end in August beginning 18th June 2018 in a ten week ran. It is expected to see more than 28.6 million customers qualify for the chance to win one of seven apartments. M-Pesa agents will also stand to win one of eight grand prizes of KES 1 million in cash. In addition, both customers and agents will stand to win more than KES 300 million through weekly prizes.

“M-Pesa has grown from a simple service that enables customers to send money home to provide value in different ways to more than 28 million Kenyans, every day. This growth has come at the back of persistent innovation from our staff and partners, and more importantly, from the spirit of Kenyans to nurture and support such innovation. This promotion seeks to thank and reward our customers for their support through 11 years of the service,” said Sitoyo Lopokoiyit, Director – Financial Services, Safaricom.

During the promotion, customers will earn ten points for every KES. 100 transacted while agents will earn one point for every KES 100 deposited. All M-Pesa customers who participate in the promotion will have the chance to redeem their points for data, voice minutes or SMS.

Launched more than 11 years ago, M-PESA’s customers have grown to 28.6 million customers and 156,000 agents and more than 101,000 Lipa Na Mpesa merchants.
