The deadline for voting for your favorite short film in the ongoing My Kenya My Story by Kenya Film Commission is tomorrow – the 14th day of June 2018 – but before the time for voting officially expires, I would like to politely ask you to consider voting for the short film HOMELESS. Two or so weeks ago I wrote an article explaining why HOMELESS deserves your vote.

Here is the procedure to vote:

Step 1 – Click on the link below that leads directly to the Google form created by Kenya Film Commission for voting purposes.

Step 2 – Since the document is a Google doc, you will be required to sign in with your Gmail.

Step 3 – Scroll down to the list of films, and select HOMELESS in the list. Click on the checkbox just left of HOMELESS (see screenshot below)

Step 4 – After selecting HOMELESS scroll down and click SUBMIT. And that’s it.

Once again I would really like you to vote for HOMELESS to allow Ustadi Films produce the full feature film based on the same story.

Remember, to vote you just need to click this link right here!

For those of you who haven’t watched the short film, here is the YouTube link

The film was short on an infinix smartphone hence the quality.

The questions those who have watched the short film ask us include:

  1. Why are the two kids homeless?
  2. What happened after they were taken  by the good samaritan?

To answer those questions, we have written a screenplay based on two stories actually – a screenplay by Elijah Matembo titled Sealed Fate, and this short story that we created for My Kenya My Story smartphone competition. The new film will explore the intricacies of family feud, greed, and entitlement to inheritance in totally new and strange angles. Your vote will therefore play a great role in enabling us produce that feature film.

Thanks in advance for voting for HOMELESS.
