Safaricom has launched “Tunukiwa Daily Offers” that will for the first time see the telco’s customers get tailor-made deals on SMS, Voice and Data.
For the next 90 days, customers will be able to make calls for as low as KES 2 per minute, as well as highly discounted SMS and Data offers, for the next 90 days. The offers will be valid for 24 hours from the time of purchase.
“Customer satisfaction remains a very important objective for our business. Our goal is to listen to our customer’s feedback and provide products and services that suit their needs and give them the experience they deserve,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Director – Consumer Business, Safaricom.
“The Tunukiwa Daily Offers will provide customers with the power to make personalized choices on how much they wish to spend on Voice, SMS and Data on a daily basis while at the same time get 100% or more of any of the three that you purchase,” said Ms. Mulinge.
To participate in the promotion, customers will be required to dial *444# from their Safaricom line to view daily offers. They can decide which bundle best suits them. Once they purchase their preferred offers, their airtime will be deducted from their airtime.
Tunukiwa Dailly Offers complement Stori Ibambe, where customers get 100% bonus airtime valid until midnight daily, after attaining daily target.
The offer comes in the wake of fierce competition from the other two telcos that make up the industry. However, there are cases where telcos have turned promotions into permanent tariffs.
In August 2010, Airtel sparked a vicious price war with Safaricom, which saw off-net tariffs nose-dive to an average of Sh4 a minute from a high of Sh12 per minute; while on-net calls dropped to Sh3 per minute from peaks of Sh7 a minute.
The campaign kicked off on 11th April 2017 and will end on 9th July 2017.
