Tecno’s Boom player hits over one million installations
The Boom Player has hit over one million downloads. The player founded by mobile manufacturer Tecno in 2016 is the fastest growing music download platform in Africa as of now.
The African music download and streaming platform has gained a good number of installations due to its pre-installation strategy following wide sale of mobile devices across African countries.
The player is known for its finer equalizer, bass booster and a surround sound feel. Boom not only made for Tecno Phones but also for other Android devices allows users to favourite certain songs that will automatically create a play list for fast access.
The library also categorizes songs to Genres, mood, Discover and the recommended category that shows you songs and albums from artistes the Player thinks you’d like to listen to. This could be according to previous preference of artists and songs or the country.
Boom player is looking to release a new version in a target set to reach 1 million daily active users by December 2017. Tecno is also looking to make the player the application that artists latch on to in order to connect with their fans.
From timely updates of latest releases in both audio and video formats, to lyrics and so many other amazing and interactive features available on the app, it is not a surprise that we have reached this milestone in such a short time, we only just put Boom Player in the Google Play Store nine months ago,” said Oye Akideinde, General Manager of the Mobile Apps Department, TECNO Mobile.
To make the application captivating, Chief Executive Oladele Olaopa is inspired by Mosaic art in the creation of the boom. “The use of tiny mosaic tiles or blocks to create works of art is an ancient craft that is becoming ever more popular in the present age. As an art form it can have great depth, variety and freedom of expression – but best of all, it is a skill that can be acquired by anyone, with only a minimum of instruction.”
