Netflix has introduced offline viewing mode. From now onwards you will be able to download select TV shows and movies to watch later. For you to start enjoying this new feature you need to have a device running iOS 8.0 or later and Android 4.4.2 or later. Apart from that you will need to grab the latest version of the Netflix iOS or Netflix Android app. The last bit is that you will need an internet connection to initiate the download after which the content will be available for viewing without an internet connection.

As a precaution, note that both downloading and streaming consume similar amounts of data. It is advisable to download while connected to Wi-Fi as a means of managing your mobile data. Netflix also gives you the option to download your title either in Standard or Higher video quality. This setting can be accessed from Menu>App Settings>Downloads>Video Quality.

Standard quality is a slightly lower video resolution that requires less storage space and takes less time to download. On the other hand, Higher quality is a higher video resolution that requires more storage space and takes more time to download.

As of now not all titles are available for download. To know if your favourite title is available for download, search for it and then look for the download icon. Alternatively, you can browse downloadable titles by heading to Netflix menu and selecting Available for Download. Then you simply select the title you would like to download and then tap the download icon on the description page. For TV shows, the icon will appear next to each available episode. The downloaded title can be accessed from the My Downloads section of the app.

Deleting a title is as simple as clicking Edit in the My Downloads section. You can also delete all downloaded titles at once by going to Menu>App Settings>Clear All Downloads. A confirmation screen will appear. Tap delete to complete the operation.
