Samsung Galaxy S6 is currently one of the best phones. Galaxy S6 company has produced amazing devices which are the best in the market. The firm has produced S6 spinoffs, including the Galaxy S6 Active. Samsung is planning to launch a 5.5-inch Galaxy S6 Edge Plus phablet.
Digital Trends provides that Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has lived on the shadow of the Galaxy Note 5 throughout the last months, where both phones have been leaked on various occasions. The website provides that both may end up sharing the stage at a launch event planned for August. Following repeated rumors linking the date with the Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus launch, Samsung has started sending out invitations to an event in New York on August 13.
Samsung states that it’s unpacked event which can prove that the event will unveil prestigious devices. The event’s invitation features an unusual 3D picture, which may represent the S6 Edge Plus’s double curved display. “The event will be used to reveal the S6 Edge Plus. The device has all the features of the company’s popular flagship device, in the larger size format pioneered by the Galaxy Note series.” A Wall Street Journal reported.
People have started leaking the photos of how they think the phone will look like. leaker OnLeaks posted a new press render of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in mid-July on Twitter, showing an image quite similar to the image leaked earlier in June. It looks like the larger version of the current Galaxy S6 Edge.
The leaker also posted a few pictures which allegedly show dummy models of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus next to the original S6 Edge. The dimensions of the Plus are said to be approximately 154.45 x 75.80 x 6.85mm. The earlier rumors of the phone featuring a 5.5-inch display appear to be confirmed, as well.
Another leak provides that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (model SM-G928) is going under the codename Project Zero 2, and is not part of Project Zero or Project Zen. This leak also suggests slightly different dimensions for the phone, which are 151 x 73mm. To further complicate things, it is now suggested that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus could wind up with a 5.4-inch or 5.7-inch display. In June, a YouTuber named Marques Brownlee posted a video of the HTC One M9+, in which leaked pictures of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus make an appearance at the end of the video. Brownlee says an anonymous source sent him the photos, which he believes are genuine. The images certainly corroborate the earlier rumor that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will have two curved edges just like the original Galaxy S6 Edge, but will sport a bigger screen.
The phone is believed to have 3000 mAh battery, 5.5-inch Super Amoled screen with the same high-resolution as the regular Galaxy S6, but it may be curved on both sides, just like the S6 Edge. The same Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor that LG used in the G4 may power the device, which will likely come with 32GB of internal storage. A 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera are also rumored.
