There is no escaping the great leaps in technology and just about everyone is now either on that bandwagon or making active plans to get onto it. In 2012, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) realized the power and importance of digital operations and started the process of digitizing the tax filing system. This is the system that was launched in April this year and is commonly known as iTax.
iTax is a secure web-enabled application system that provides a fully-integrated and automated solution for administration of domestic taxes. It enables taxpayer internet based PIN registration, returns filing, payment registration to allow for tax payments and status inquiries with real-time monitoring of accounts.
Members of the public still have quite a lot of questions about the iTax system and indeed taxation as a whole and towards that, Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) has partnered with KRA to have them over their offices to take the audience through the system. Attendees will get to know how it works and how we as individuals and the wider economy stand to benefit from the same. Members of the audience will also be able to ask questions that have always nagged them about taxation. On the panel will be David Mutoro Busaule and Kenneth Ruttoh, both of KRA.
The event will be hosted tomorrow from 5.30pm to 9.00pm. Register here and plan to attend this very informative forum.
The KRA iTax team will also be present to help you file your tax returns and with other enquiries at the same venue, so please remember to carry your P9 form.
