  • The fact that the smartphone comes with an insurance cover is a big plus. This sets it apart from other phones considering that apart from theft, damage is the worst thing that can happen to a phone

  • This are my favorite features and reasons and why i feel the Lumia 530 is the best windows phone ever to land in the Kenyan market.

    1. It’s affordable

With a starting price of Ksh. 9,999/-
at all Orange shops and outlets in Kenya the potent Lumia 530 is not
only the cheapest Lumia to date, it’s also the most affordable way to
get Windows Phone 8.1 on a new Lumia device.

    2. It’s bursting with high-end features

    With
the lumia 530 i can enjoy fantastic features such as the
type-trendsetting Word Flow, the efficient swipe-down Action Center,
    changeable Start screen backgrounds

    3. It’s powerful

    As
well as the 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that will
make light work of internet browsing, using your favourite apps and
playing your favourite games, i don’t need to worry about running out
of storage space either (a common trait with similarly priced smartphones), the Lumia 530 has expandable memory via MicroSD, up to 128GB and

    4.
it’s cloud ready

Buillt on 15GB of free OneDrive cloud storage and i;ve got bags of space to store photos, documents and much more.

    5. It loves apps

    With
Windows Phone 8.1 at the helm, i will have access to thousands of
quality apps such as Skype, Instagram, WhatsApp and Evernote at my
disposal, with many more being added each and every day. This will
definitely give me complete life change.

    6. It’s got a dual personality

in
a good way! The Lumia 530 isn’t just restricted to one network the
(smart) dual-SIM version will allow me to run on two different SIM cards. For
anyone running a brace of phones for work and pleasure, the all-in-one
dual-SIM Lumia 530 provides a great way to consolidate your tech and
    free up pocket space.

    7. It loves taking photos

    It has
5-megapixel camera, Glam Me app with a clever voice-guided feature for
taking your own selfies and brilliant software such as Creative Studio
and Cinema graph. The former is a mufti-faceted photo-editing app
that will turn basic shots into impressive creations worth sharing with
friends, family and on the wide array of social network channels that
can be used with the Lumia 530.

    8. I can get great mapping out of the box

    Once
you’ve used your smartphone to find your way around, you’ll never go
back. It’s like using broadband for the first time. Powered by HERE
Maps, the Lumia 530 will not only direct you anywhere but will also
allow to you download maps ‘offline’ to avoid roaming charges, if abroad.

    9. You can work and play

    Being
a Windows Phone and part of the Microsoft ecosystem, the Lumia 530 has
access to mobile Office apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint that can be used right on the device and
documents can be automatically synced with the cloud,
allowing you to finish your work on another device. Clever!

    And
just like on all other Lumia smartphones, it has access to Mix Radio
that gives you unlimited, ad-free streaming of music and it’s available
offline too. Hit Play Me for instant access to your own personalized
radio station, discover new music through curated mixes, or create your own mix and dance the night away.

    10. It looks great

    Finally,
being seen with your new communications companion also has to fit the
style bill. Smartphones are a lifestyle choice, after all; just as
important as the clothes we wear.

Both single and dual-SIM versions of the Lumia 530
come in a multitude of stand-out colors, such as bright green and
bright orange, but can also be customized with changeable shells (also
available in white and dark grey) to fit your mood and personality.

    I just love this phone!

There are many ways a Kenyan can use 10K. You can spit at your discretion and since it’s your prerogative to spit, you can pay for it with the same discretion. After all, a spatula of saliva is worth 10 K in Eldoret.
You alight from a matatu wrongly in Nairobi and the “Kanju” will be there to collect charges worth 10K due to the damage you’ve caused to their beautifully decorated pavement. Never mind that the stage is another 10,000cm away and going by the current traffic jam you will get there in just about 10,000 seconds. So hey rather than salivate on the street and pay 10,000 KES, buy the Lumia 530 and while away all those 10,000 seconds for the 10,000 cms on facebook or twitter plus you will be 1 bob richer.

    Warehouse Stores
You probably know the closest location of your local National Cereals and Produce board’s warehouse, Coffee processing warehouse, Tea collecting factory, Milk processing plant, Kenya Meat Commission Slaughter house or any other storerooms where they collect and store agricultural produce.
If you don’t, then stop harbouring those dreams of being a large scale farmer owing 4 tractors, 128 hectares of land and over 15 different product lines. Just go buy a Lumia 530 and enjoy the storage capacity it has of 4GB internal memory and up to 128GB Expandable memory. Get your head out of the clouds of farming and only take it back there once you have located the closes warehouse stores. In the meantime you can be enjoying cloud storage offered by the lumia plus you won’t have to cloud your judgement while at it.

    Discovery Trail
Let’s face it; we are a country running amok due to the current craze of selfies. What, with the president taking selfies with expectant journalist, high school students and random wananchi on the streets to advertisers of rexona roll on and golden fry advertising their products with a thousand selfies in between. Clearly the selfies generation is here.
But let’s make a deal, the Lumia 530 will not give you the selfies option of a front camera. It will however give you the selfless option of exploring the world with your boys or/and girls be they family or friends. Go hiking, or fishing or rock climbing or horse racing or to the KCB Mbenki safari rally or to the football match. The 5MP back camera will capture crisp memories of the good times which you can still reminisce even when you are 58.
Granted, the photos of your dandelion flowers and the rock badgers you took might not make it to the discovery channel or your atomic like cloud of dust left behind by that rally driver win you a Pulitzer. However, they will be decent enough to give you boasting rights on social media as a world traveller, an adrenalin packed adventurer on a discovery trail and a voyage for world domination… that is if anybody cares, and the number of likes on FB photos might not proof enough that anyone does.

    The Legend Lives
A story is told of an old man who discovered a broken mirror. He was not aware what this new technology was but he was fascinated by it. So he hid it in one of the places of his expansive ranch and used to visit it daily. His wife became suspicious of his numerous disappearances and so she followed him one day and caught him red handed in the act of staring at a mirror. She snatched it away from him looked at it, and not knowing what it was she turned irately to her husband and said “So this is the old damsel that you come to hang out with leaving me all alone?” The old man looked at her and was like “Huh? I only come to look at that thing because I can clearly see my father no matter how far he is. Problem is he talks as I talk and I never get to hear what he is saying!”
Well thanks to Skype the legend lives… talking with our loved ones across the “mirror” and actually getting to see and hear what they are saying is a reality. And yes you guessed it right. Lumia 530 has Skype installed plus you get one month unlimited orange internet. So get one and skype away your legend.

    Fallacy Demystified
The long held erroneous fallacy that men can’t multitask has been demystified. Men can and do indeed multitask. They can listen to the TV while reading a newspaper all the while browsing on their phones as the madam is speaking to him. The only thing that men can’t do while doing this intense, nerve wracking, excruciating and action packed multitasking is talk or rememberafterwards what was said? So please don’t ask him a question that requires a more than Yes or No answer and don’t hold him up to his answers later as he won’t even have the foggiest of what you are talking about.
The Lumia 530 however will allow men to multitask but keep a record of it for future reference. A blend of work ‘n’ play is domiciled on the same device. Work out that missing shilling on the excel sheets, type that speech on word, plus put finish touches on the presentation which you will be presenting to the board in which the single CEO whom you have a crush on will be in attendance.
All the while you are progressing on levels for the various games you are playing and your stats are looking impressive.
Plus hey if the guys call you on your social line to go test drive your pal’s new Subaru you’ll be on point. Should that CEO gal call you on your business line asking you to be a part of a small strategy team she’s going with for a strategy session at Diani Beach, you can always ditch the guys. Ooh the beauty of a dual SIM variant phone.

    Suicide Note
Forget all the techie jargon on smart phones. Ati 1.2GHZ Qualdcore snapdragon processer, ati windows 8.1 Windows OS, downloaded offline maps, latest features like word flow, sijui 4 inch screen, unlimited ad free streaming music, cortana, oooh the phone is beautiful and colourful , ati HSPA+ 4G connectivity forget all that techie gobbledygook.
Just know this; you won’t have to commit murder on yourself by hyperventilating when your phone hangs. So rather than compose that suicide note you’ve been contemplating lately, remember your weak heart and see a doctor…. and get a Lumia 530.
You might also be accused of murdering that innocent bystander or passerby who will be hit by an unidentified flying object which in the cause of investigation the pathologist will conclude that death occurred due to shock and massive internal bleeding. The police will reveal that the previously unidentified object was in fact a smart phone moving at a velocity that defied human strength. Your weak argument that you threw your phone in frustration due to slow speed won’t hold water in a court of law. Whereas the judge and the court might be impressed with you bull’s eye accuracy whilst throwing objects and even suggest that you might have had a career had you joined the military snipers or the free range sharp shooters team, he will most definitely ask you to cool your tempers for 10,000 years in a small cage for second degree murder. Meanwhile, we will all be wondering how comes you never heard of Lumia 530, a very fast phone that doesn’t hang.
