Etisalat group partners Ericsson to power networked society initiatives.

Etisalat and Ericsson have signed a deal to collaborate in enabling high-speed, responsive network, laying the foundation for next generation infrastructure for m-government and upcoming smart cities in a quest to adopt the latest digital technologies to satisfy consumers.

3G networks have fundamentally changed the way people live, interact and do business every organization has stepped up to use the same in delivering services to consumers. People now expect to access information, entertainment and business with faster speeds.

LTE Broadcast, Ericsson Radio Dot System and Ericssonā€™s heterogeneous network solutions are some of the innovative Ericsson technologies that will be launched as trials in the campaign. The joint effort will also roll out mobile identity based service as well as explore opportunities for expanding these services for key foundation; m-government, m-commerce and m-health across borders. Ā The application allows subscribers to use their mobile identity securely through one click sign-in giving access to diverse applications, government services and websites without the risk of data-mining.

The two firms will also collaborate with regional governments to provide ubiquitous connectivity, citizen proximity, ease access and open platforms to ensure citizens have seamless access to services through the devices of their choice.
