Samsung To Unveil Galaxy S5 this month

Written by

It seems Samsung has chosen Mobile World Congress in Barcelona as the venue to launch Galaxy S5. According to NYTimes, the event will be low-key as compared to last year’s Galaxy S4 launch.

Majority of the tech rumor mongers (bloggers) are surprised that Galaxy S5 is not going to come with a 5.25-inch Quad HD display (2560×1440). So that means that Samsung will have 1080p screen on the two successive Galaxy S series…disappointed.  Going with the NYTimes reports, Galaxy S5 will come with a faster processor, a better camera (most are hinting at 16MP). On top of that, expect a new version of Samsung’s Knox security software.

At the unpack 5 event, Samsung is expected to also launch Galaxy Gear 2. With normal schedule, this should have been launched together with Galaxy Note 4 later in the year but I guess things are different this year. Galaxy Gear 1 has issues which need to be fixed immediately and it make sense for Samsung to announce the second iteration sooner rather than later
