The president of the United States of America, the most powerful man on earth, decided to take things casual at the Nelson Mandela memorial and took a selfie with Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt and U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron. Social Media has gone abuzz with diverse comments some criticizing the president for acting like a celeb yet he is the most official human on earth whereas others have criticized him for demeaning the memorial of Nelson Mandela. Here are some comments from Twitter:
“@Jorgekip: Presidents taking pictures of Obama :D” I’m surprised Socialite Number 1 hajachukua selfie. Digital IG government things.

Although a number of people seem to be against the selfie, I personally I am in support of the president. How do people want those in leadership to enjoy life? The number of restrictions we seem to impose on these leaders are way too much. Just the way we have freedom to socialize, enjoy life, comment on issues and take the best of occassions, these freedom of self expression that are not “immoral” or illegal should not be limited merely because someone is in a critical leadership position.
Good selfie by the way.
