Residents of Kukuo in Tamale Ghana cannot withstand the noise emanating from generators powering mobile towers anymore. The residents have threatened to destroy the towers as the towers consume a lot of electric power and also are a nuisance when there is black out. Abdul Karim, a resident of Kukuo said, “Instead of the telco operators going through the proper procedures at the Volta River Authority, they have resorted to using generators which makes a lot of noise thereby affecting our sleep at night.” The Ghanian government is now worried and has deployed police to man most of the towers under threat.
