Finally President Mwai Kibaki launched the Biometric voter registration process and expected go for the next 30 days. The good people at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission aims to register 18 million voters by the end of the exercise. The process will take place every day from 8am to 5pm.

A total of 29,000 voter registration clerks have been trained and will undertake the electronic registration process on 25,000 centres country wide.IEBC Chair Isaack Hassan cautioned people against multiple registration as such malpractice would be easily detected.

There is no way 18 million voters can be registered in 30 days. It will be extended by a month or 2, forcing adjustment of election date. Let’s wait.
Judging with the low turn out on the first day of the registration process…i think you are onto something here
one mnth is very little especially at this time when higher education students are doing their eaxams.This period should be extended to allow us practise our democratic right to vote.
