In that quarter aloneĀ  Samsung captured 31.3 percent of the market share.Ā  And as expected Samsung has made a record third-quarter profit of $7.4 billion

Apple sold 26.9 million iPhones during theĀ  third quarter . With that Apple occupied second place with 15 percent of the market share .

I am a bit Surprised by Research In Motion strong showing that earned them the third place with expected shipments of 7.7 million. Others are ZTE with 7.5 million and HTC with 7.3 million.

Things are not looking good for Nokia so far. They sold 2.9 million Lumia smartphones in the third quarter and a told of 6.3 million smartphones.
