Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has signed a co-operation agreement with AITEC Africa ahead of the upcoming AITEC East Africa ICT Summit scheduled for 24-25 October to allow its extensive membership of electrical and electronics professionals to showcase their latest technology innovations in line with the Summit’s “Smart Cities” theme .
Vincent Kaabunga, head of IEEE’s Kenya Chapter, said the body has “new, relevant and market ready technology innovations and inventions to showcase that could potentially further advance the region’s innovation and inventions credentials. We want the innovations community in the region and the world in general to see what electrical and electronics engineers in the region have been up to,” he said.
Four other multinational organizations developing and providing consulting for smart city technologies, including IBM, KPMG and Deloitte, will also showcase smart cities technologies and systems at the AITEC ICT Summit. Other showcases expected at the AITEC ICT Summit include presentations on the Ghana Cyber City and Konza Techno City.
