And the overall winner of Pivot East 2012 is Ma3Racer (KE)… Ma3Racer is a racing game set on the busy Nairobi highways. It is the first in a series of games created by Planet Rackus. Planet Rackus is a collaboration of likeminded individuals who have an inspired vision and shared passion for telling Kenyan, East African and Pan African stories through a sustainable Digital Entertainment Framework.

SchoolBursar by Fomobi Solutions streamlines the process of receiving and managing payments through M-Pesa. It performs real-time analysis and generation of reports for each student, sends reminders to parents and guardians who have fee deficits and alerts the administrator and principals of the same.

They also have a mapping module which allows the customers to know the exact locations of where their orders are coming from to help in planned delivery..

Mobile Society: The Winner is mPrep (KE)

An SMS-based study solution for students, teachers, and schools by M-Prep Ltd.  MPrep is a Khan Academy for the bottom of the pyramid. It is a platform that gives students access to quality study materials aligned to local content using ubiquitous mobile devices. They aim at  giving schools access to meaningful data about the students.According to their website  “We believe that even schools that don’t have access to the internet yet deserve quality educational materials too”
