Samsung annual mobile handset sales this year had exceeded 300 million units

The world’s second largest handset maker by volume has broken its sales record by the end of last month to over 300million units . Handset sales in 2010 were about 280 million. This year Samsung flagship Galaxy S smartphone series — Galaxy S and Galaxy S II — contributed significantly to the results.

“We are incredibly proud of this record-breaking sales milestone and have exceeded the annual target announced early this year, which is testament to the enduring appeal of Samsung phones with consumers around the world,” said Shin Jong-Kyun, president of Samsung Mobile..
