Dstv Drifta -The mobile TV decoder

Yesterday Dstv launched Drifta – a new mobile decoder from DStv Mobile.

The mobile TV decoder – the Drifta – receives the DStv Mobile (DVB-H) broadcast signal and relays it over WiFi to a range of WiFi capable devices, this includes laptops, PCs, tablets such as the iPad, smartphones, iPhones and iPods.  At launch the Drifta supports Windows and the iOS devices, however in the future additional devices such as those running the BlackBerry OS, Symbian 3 and Android applications will also be supported.

The three bouquet options for the Drifta include:

Free bouquet                   KTN, KBC, NTV (no charge)

Mini bouquet                   Selected entertainment channels only (KShs 440)

Maxi bouquet                  Selected entertainment channels plus SS9 and SS10 (KShs1000)

Maxi Plus bouquet         Free of charge to DStv Premium subscribers (includes all channels as well as SS3)

The Drifta will be available for KShs 10,999 from MultiChoice offices and the service can be activated via the MultiChoice call centre or the DStv Mobile website.
