Caster Semenya is a Hermaphrodite….a woman ..a man

Written by

According to the test Athletics World governing body Caster Semenya is a woman? and a man. Now that is a loaded and complicated matter ..she ?he or both..Semenya has no womb or ovaries and her testosterone levels are more than three times higher than those of a normal female, according to reports. Semenya is? hermaphrodite, with both the female and male organs. There is now chance that she might be stripped of her world title won in Berlin last month.

The IAAF is expected? to advise her to have surgery to fix the condition. Earlier it was reported that IAAF decided to allow Semenya to retain her title regardless of the outcome of the test but according to Autralia?s Daily Telegraph Semenya?s future participations in championships is in doubt.

So if one is both a man and woman?does that mean she..he can?t participate on what the others are doing? ?This might seem to be very complex but she is a human being who happen to have some abnormalities in her body. Semenya is both? woman and a man, so she should be allowed to decide who she want to be. She decided she is a woman and so be it, let her participate in sports as a woman.

  • A spanner in the works, if ever I saw one.

A third category should be created for Caster and hundreds of thousands of other hermaphrodites in the world.

  • No, its undue advantage for her to compete as a woman, she has THREE TIMES the level of testosterone that women have, and we all know that means she burns fat faster, and will most always win. true, all hermaphrodite athletes shud have a category of their own. wen it comes to some stuff, you just don't choose your sex, either you are or you are not

  • One wonders, why did the authorities wait to test after she had won? How does her testosterone compare with other women athletes?

  • Third category lol hehehe, well i think it is complex and complicated. But the basic fact is somehow there should be a way that she ..he is allowed to participate whether by choosing or by creating another category although that will be very limiting. How many hermaphrodite are out there, and how many are in sports

  • I hear they are going to advise her to undergo suggery. If they remove the internal male organs which produces testosterone hormones then i think it would be logical for them to just allow her to compete with women, i don't think she will be that fast after the surgery.

  • Very sad but since it is something she was born with, nobody can say she cheated, at the end she falls on both sides
