‘Nokia Tune Dubstep Edition’ by Valerio Alessandro Sizzi is the winner of next variation of the Nokia Tune competition

Nokia  revealed the winner of the global competition which challenged people to get creative and compose their own versions of the classic Nokia Tune. ‘Nokia Tune Dubstep Edition’ by Valerio Alessandro Sizzi from Italy was selected as the winner of the competition which received more than 6,200 entries from over 2,800 sound designers across over 70 countries. The winning entry can be heard on Nokia’s Brand Book.

The winning entry was  selected by an expert jury, which comprised Kai Bronner, one of the founders of Audio Branding Academy; Julian Treasure, known for his TED talks and author of ‘Sound Business’; and Mark Dewings, head of Brand & Marketing Communications at SoundCloud. Nokia’s own SVP of Design, Marko Ahtisaari, was also on the seven member jury.

The prizes

The winning tune will sit alongside the default Nokia Tune and will be included in select models within the company’s 2012 product portfolio, an estimated 100 million devices. In addition, the winning tune will be made available on Nokia Store and featured on Nokia’s Brand Book. The winner will also be awarded a prize of 10,000 USD.

The five runner-ups will have their versions of the Nokia Tune available in Nokia Store and will be awarded 1,000 USD each.
