I would love to do this with Safaricom customer care – awesome

HelloU.co.uk has reproduced an amazing customer care conversation between an Amazon customer and Amazon customer care representative who identified himself as Thor. For those who haven’t watched Thor or are not privy to Greek mythology, I advise that you first familiarize yourself with the Movie Thor or get your hands on one of Marvel comic books before reading this. Otherwise you’ll float.

The conversation is heart touching, at least it touched my heart. I love the humour…amazing. What I am wondering is if it could be possible for me, or anyone, to have a similar conversation by let’s say Safaricom customer care representative.

The closest we have witnessed locally is that great Twitter conversation that happened in November 2014 between a dissatisfied Safaricom customer, Airtel customer care representative and Safaricom customer care representative. In that conversation, there emerged a love triangle where both Safaricom and Airtel were fighting for the love of this customer who had divorced Safaricom. The conversation was reproduced by Crazy Kenyan Media but, oh no, the page is no longer available. This is the feedback you’ll get when you attempt to access that great conversation.

This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?

It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.

Why is the page of that conversation that went viral on twitter deleted? Was someone scared? Or do corporate bodies detest love (and sex) related conversations that much? And speaking of corporate affairs loath of love and sex, did you hear that they didn’t want to work with Sauti Sol because of that Nishike hit song? And that a number of them have declined to place ads in Maina Kageni’s morning show in Classic 105 by Radio Africa? Don’t we just love lagging behind in almost everything – and that’s why I say we need to abandon cultures that are only known to always play catch up.

Away from Safaricom customer care and Airtel and back to Thor and Odin, here is the conversation that has impressed so many online. Enjoy.
