“Transforming a country’s IT infrastructure is a mammoth task that not only requires technology…” says Dr Gilbert Saggia

In 2014, the Kenyan government unveiled its 5-year ICT Master Plan.  Once completed, it can transform public sector processes, services and management, and make information access and service delivery more efficient.

“Digital transformation is affecting the public sector as much as it is affecting business,” said Dr. Gilbert Saggia, Country Manager, Oracle Kenya. “Organizations are discovering that working in departmental or functional silos is hindering, not promoting success. ICT transformations are inherently complex and require attention to detail and diligent project management to avoid pitfalls and budget over-runs.”

Dr. Saggia explained that Oracle knows firsthand how modernizing a country’s ICT infrastructure can transform public services and processes dramatically. “Among our public sector customers globally, our approach to standardize and integrate systems has delivered a faster implementation, greater agility and a more cost-effective solution,” he added.

Oracle enables next generation service delivery with flexible systems that integrate across functions and departments. Moreover, Oracle provides a comprehensive and fully integrated stack of cloud applications, platform services, and engineered systems designed to efficiently support digital transformation projects in single or across multiple public sector agencies.

Oracle Public Sector solutions are supported by expert implementation specialists and a worldwide partner ecosystem with the skills and experience to help ensure a smooth transition. “Oracle is proud of its place as a leading technology company in the global public sector, where today most ICT projects include Oracle solutions,” said Dr Saggia.

For many years, the company has operated in Kenya directly and through an established network of 88 active Kenyan Oracle PartnerNetwork partners.

Oracle is also committed to supporting the country’s digital agenda through work with the Information Communication Technology Authority (ICTA)  and initiatives such as Kenya’s Presidential Digital Talent Program (PDTP), Oracle is helping to bring local knowledge and experience together with technology to help give rise to new innovations.

“Transforming a country’s IT infrastructure is a mammoth task that not only requires technology, but also the expertise and resources to help see it through to completion,” concludes Dr. Saggia. “Oracle looks forward to continuing to support Kenya’s ICT Master Plan with appropriate products and services”
