Youth in Agriculture Blogging Competition -Three Kenyans need your online votes

As members of Bake, one of our aims is to expand blogging beyond the current concentration on technology/business and poetry to other aspect of life.  One area that needs more attention especially from bloggers is Agriculture. It is simple, as a country which depends on Agriculture for survival, it is a shame that we have a few bloggers doing their things on matters Agriculture. I am sure if Kenyans online would talk about Agriculture as they do with gossips, technology and poetry then nobody would be starving in any part of this country.

That is why we happy when we discovered  blogging competition titled “National Awards » Blog on Youth and Agriculture”

We put up the link on Bake’s Facebook fan page and fortunately a number of Kenyan bloggers entered the competition.  It can never get better than having three Kenyan blogs  shortlisted among 36 in the individual category

We received more than 90 entries for the competition, among which we shortlisted a total of 36 blogs for the Individual Category and 16 blogs for the Institutional Category. See the list of eligible blogs below.

Now the listed blogs need Kenyans to vote for them online.

Ephraim Maina – Chronicles of a Kenyan Farmer

Anthony Mwangi – The Young AgroPreneur

Cosmas Butunyi – Dear Sir/Madam

Here is how to go about it according to ardyis.cta.int

We have two different processes for the two categories.

  • Click here to vote for your best blogs in the Individual Category. 15 finalists will be selected basing on the number of votes they will receive, and they will be finally evaluated by an independent jury composed of expert in the field of ICTs and Agriculture.  The first prize for this category is 1500 Euros and other prizes will be awarded!
  • You can comment on the blogs of the Institutional Category, by going directly here: the jury will choose the best blogs per region for this category and will take into account comments made by the public. The prize for this category is 3,000 Euros per winning organization. In addition, some of the most appreciated blogs by the public will receive special rewards from organizers if they are not selected by the jury.
